Have fun and help accelerate research for ME/CFS and related chronic complex diseases.

Team OMF members around the world have helped to raise thousands of dollars toward research. Everyone can be a part of Team OMF. Host a turnkey event or create your own signature DIY (do it yourself) fundraiser and be a part of our search for the cure. You decide what works best for you and how much time you would like to commit.

Easy to do DIY fundraisers can have a big impact.

Restaurant Fundraisers: Contact a local restaurant to schedule a day where a percentage of all sales are donated to OMF Canada. Many restaurants have programs set for non-profit fundraising including The Habit Burger, Patzi, and Pizza Hut (in the US) to name just a few. OMF Canada supporters who have hosted restaurant events have helped raise hundreds of dollars in one day just b spreading the word.

Crowdchange: Celebrate your birthday or any occasion by creating a Crowdchange campaign for family and friends to donate in your honor or in honor of a loved-one. You can also go out and create your own event, invite friends for a BBQ or join a community walk and invite people to support your effort. Crowdchange partners with OMF Canada and provides their service for free.

Facebook Fun: Engage your social media community and create your own Facebook fundraiser. Celebrate your birthday, anniversary, or just let them know OMF Canada is important to you. Instead of a gift, invite your community to donate to OMF Canada on your behalf. Team OMF Canada members who have created Facebook fundraisers have raised from $50 to $5,000. 100% of all funds raised on Facebook come directly to OMF Canada. Give your friends and family a chance to support something important to you.

Turn your hobby or special interest into a DIY fundraiser.

Plant Sale: A patient who loves gardening turned her green thumb into a fundraiser. She grew plants from her garden’s seedlings and sold them. Because the cost to make and pot the plants were minimal, 100% of her sales were donated to support research.

Classic Car Show: One patient’s family took their love for classic cars and hosted a classic car show. The admission fee to see the show was donated to OMF Canada to support research. If you know someone involved in a car club, invite them to host an event to benefit OMF Canada’s research.

Concert: Are you in a band or play an instrument? Pick a date and invite family and friends to come and hear you play and charge an admission fee. Or ask a local pub to welcome your group (or a friend’s group) to perform. The admission fee can be donated to OMF Canada.

Bike Ride or Community Walk: Do you bike ride or walk on the weekend, either alone or with friends? Either way, set a specific date and distance for your ride or walk and do it in honor of someone specific (or everyone) with ME/CFS. Create a Crowdchange page and invite your community to donate to your effort. If you have friends that will ride or walk with you, encourage them to set up a page on your event and fundraise too.

Cause Marketing: Cause-related marketing is when a company markets and sells a product and a percentage of the sale is donated to charity. Do you have connections at a company that would create a cause-related marketing opportunity? Perhaps you have a realtor friend who would agree to donate a percentage from each sale. Or maybe you know of a corporation that would agree to include a message about OMF Canada on the packaging of one of their products and donate a percentage of every sale.

Take advantage of Employee Matching Gifts.

Does your employer (or your spouse’s employer) provide an Employee Matching Gift? Matching Gifts are an easy way to double your donation every time you donate. Contact your Human Resources department for information. We’ll complete the online or print form for you. Please email forms to info@omf.ngo or mail your form to OMF 29302 Laro Drive, Agoura Hills, CA 91301.
